Age Requirement
You must be aged 21–80 and hold an open driver’s license to hire a Cheapie car. Our insurance policy means we can’t rent to anyone aged under 21 or over 80.
Security Deposit
When you pick up your car, we’ll charge a security deposit to your credit card – a pending sum that’s cancelled after you return your car on time, damage-free, and with a full tank of fuel. We typically wait 7–10 business days to cancel your deposit in case you’ve been issued a fine or toll charge.
KM Allowance
Each short-term booking comes with 600 free kilometres per week. Additional kilometres will be tallied when you return your car and charged at 20 cents per kilometre.
